Google uses Core Web Vitals in ranking, so we now surface them inside the SEO category too — not just Performance — and reward sites whose real-world speed clears Google's thresholds.
A fairer scale
Checks that are close-but-not-perfect now score as needs improvement (half credit) instead of a hard fail, and we rebalanced category weights so a single borderline metric no longer tanks your score. The result tracks much closer to what PageSpeed reports.
