Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Webmatik, how audits work, and what you get.

About Webmatik

What is Webmatik?

Webmatik is an AI-powered website audit tool that analyzes your site across 8 categories: Performance, SEO, GEO (AI Search Visibility), UI/UX Design, Conversion, Retention, Accessibility, and Security. It combines 9 data sources (including Google Search Console on paid plans) and 70+ technical signals to give you a prioritized action plan for growth. Each check is graded as pass, needs improvement, or critical — so you know exactly what's urgent vs. nice-to-have.

How is Webmatik different from Google PageSpeed or Lighthouse?

PageSpeed and Lighthouse only measure performance. Webmatik goes far beyond that: real SEO keyword data, Google Search Console integration, AI-powered design review, conversion analysis, retention signals, accessibility audit, broken internal link detection, and AI search visibility (GEO). Plus you get a prioritized action plan with progress tracking and PDF export on all plans. One Webmatik audit replaces 5+ separate tools.

What types of websites can Webmatik audit?

Any publicly accessible website. Webmatik automatically detects your site type (SaaS, e-commerce, blog, portfolio, agency, corporate, or landing page) and adjusts scoring weights accordingly. A blog gets weighted more on SEO, while a SaaS site gets weighted more on conversion.

How audits work

What counts as one audit?

One audit = one URL. When you enter a URL, Webmatik scans your homepage plus up to 3-6 key inner pages depending on your plan (automatically selected based on your site type). Each audit includes mobile & desktop performance testing, AI vision analysis, organic search data, Google Search Console insights (on paid plans), 70+ technical signals, and a prioritized action plan.

How long does an audit take?

Typically 20-40 seconds. We run multiple analyses in parallel: performance tests on Google PageSpeed, keyword data from DataForSEO, security checks from Mozilla Observatory, AI vision analysis, and a deep HTML scan. Then we compile everything into a single report.

What are the 8 analysis categories?

Performance (Core Web Vitals, load time, mobile & desktop scores), SEO & GEO (meta tags, structured data, keywords, AI search readiness), UI/UX Design (AI-powered visual analysis of layout, hierarchy, and design quality), Conversion (CTAs, social proof, trust signals, forms), Retention (email capture, blog strategy, social presence), Accessibility (alt text, contrast, ARIA, keyboard navigation), and Security (HTTPS, security headers, mixed content, cookie flags).

What is the Growth Score?

Your Growth Score is a 0-10 weighted average across all categories, adjusted for your site type. It maps to five grades: Poor (0-2), Fair (2.1-4.5), Good (4.6-6.5), Great (6.6-8.5), and Excellent (8.6-10). The weights change based on what matters most for your type of business.

What data sources does Webmatik use?

We combine 9 data sources: Google PageSpeed (Lighthouse lab data for mobile & desktop), Chrome UX Report (real-user Core Web Vitals), Google Search Console (real keyword clicks, CTR, and position trends — on paid plans), DataForSEO (keyword rankings, traffic, CPC), ChatGPT & Gemini APIs (AI search visibility for GEO), Mozilla Observatory (security headers & HTTPS), AI Vision (visual design analysis), AI Engine (strategic recommendations), and Sitemap Analysis (content structure), plus a deep HTML scan with 50+ on-page signals.

What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?

GEO analyzes how well your content is optimized for AI-powered search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. With AI-assisted search growing rapidly — already handling a significant share of informational queries — brands that are invisible to LLMs miss out on a fast-growing traffic channel. We run 8 real queries across major AI models and check whether they mention or cite your brand.

What is multi-page analysis?

Unlike most audit tools that only check your homepage, Webmatik automatically finds and analyzes your key inner pages (like /pricing, /about, /services) for SEO issues, conversion elements, and accessibility problems that homepage-only audits completely miss.

Common concerns

I already use Ahrefs / SEMrush / Lighthouse. Why do I need Webmatik?

Those tools are great at what they do — but each covers only one area. Ahrefs does SEO, Lighthouse does performance, Hotjar does UX. Webmatik combines all of them into a single audit with an AI-prioritized action plan. Instead of checking 5 dashboards and deciding what matters most, you get one Growth Score and a ranked list of fixes.

How accurate is the AI analysis?

Our AI vision analysis uses the latest GPT model to evaluate design, layout, and UX patterns against best-in-class websites. It's calibrated to be strict — it compares against industry leaders like Stripe, Linear, and Apple. The SEO and performance data comes directly from Google, DataForSEO, and Mozilla, so it's as accurate as the underlying APIs.

What if my site is brand new or has very little traffic?

Webmatik works great for new sites. SEO keyword data may be limited (because your site isn't ranking yet), but you still get full performance, UI/UX, conversion, retention, accessibility analysis, and an action plan. It's actually the ideal time to audit — fix issues before they compound.

Can Webmatik audit sites behind a login?

No. Webmatik only analyzes publicly accessible pages. It works the same way a search engine crawler does — if a page requires authentication, we can't reach it.

Account & data

Do I need to install anything on my website?

No. Webmatik works externally. Just paste your URL and we handle everything. No code snippets, no browser extensions, no access to your hosting needed.

Is my data secure?

Yes. We only analyze publicly visible pages. Audit results are stored securely and linked to your account. We don't share your data with third parties.

Can I audit competitor websites?

Yes. You can audit any publicly accessible URL: your own site, competitors, or any website you're evaluating.

Can I share audit results with my team?

Yes. Open any audit and click "Share" to generate a public link. Anyone with the link can view the full report. You can disable sharing at any time by clicking "Stop Sharing". On the Growth plan, you can also use "Send to Dev" to email the PDF report directly to your developer.

Can I export the audit as a PDF?

Yes, on all plans — including Free. Click "PDF" in the audit toolbar to download a full PDF report with all scores, checks, and recommendations. On the Growth plan, you can also use "Send to Dev" to email the report directly to a developer or colleague.

Can I track which issues I've fixed?

Yes. Each issue in the Action Plan and category sections has a checkbox. Mark issues as fixed and your progress is saved locally. The sidebar shows your overall fix progress.

Do you have educational guides for fixing issues?

Yes. Our Learn section has 28 practical guides covering SEO, performance, conversion, UI/UX, retention, GEO, and accessibility. Each guide is linked from relevant audit recommendations so you can learn how to fix specific issues.

Can I export keyword data?

Yes, on the Growth plan. In the SEO tab, click "Export CSV" to download all tracked keywords with positions, search volumes, CPC, intent, and competition data.

How do I manage my subscription?

Go to your Account page and click "Manage Subscription" to access the Stripe Customer Portal. There you can update payment methods, change plans, or cancel.
